AI Optimization generates a prioritized report of actions that can improve your local search ranking. The report scores your profile health, identifies high-impact improvements, and tells you exactly what to change. This feature is part of the Localith local SEO optimization tool.
Overview
Instead of guessing which changes will move the needle, the optimization report analyzes your Google Business Profile against ranking signals, competitor data, and local search best practices. It produces a scored report with specific, actionable recommendations sorted by impact level.
Use this when you want a clear picture of where your profile stands and what to do next to improve visibility.
Before you start
Before you generate or review your optimization report, make sure:
- your Google Business Profile is connected and has basic information filled in
- you have added at least one keyword in your local search grid settings so the report has ranking data to work with
- you understand your current Google business category — the report uses this to identify relevant keywords
How it works
Navigate to SEO Management > Optimization for any connected location. Localith generates a report with a general summary, keyword analysis, and a prioritized list of actions.
The report includes:
- General summary covering the analysis period with three headline metrics
- Top keywords for your business category with search volume
- High performing keywords where you rank low — opportunities where search demand exists but your position is weak
- Prioritized actions sorted by impact level: high, medium, and low
Report summary
The top of the report shows three key metrics:
- Current rank — your overall local search position
- Overall health score — a score out of 100 based on profile completeness, review health, keyword presence, and citation consistency
- High impact actions — the number of changes that would produce the biggest ranking improvement
The report also displays your business category's top keywords with their search volumes, and highlights keywords where you have high search demand but low ranking — these are your biggest opportunities.
Impact levels
Each action in the report is classified by how much it can move your ranking:
- High impact — these changes can jump your position by multiple places. Fix these first.
- Medium impact — meaningful improvements that contribute to overall profile strength.
- Low impact — smaller optimizations that round out your profile completeness.
Step-by-step
- Open SEO Management from the left sidebar.
- Select the location you want to optimize.
- Click Optimization in the Keywords section.
- Review the General summary at the top — note your current rank and health score.
- Check the Top keywords section to see which terms have the highest search volume for your category.
- Review High performing keywords where you rank low — these are your priority optimization targets.
- Scroll to the Actions section and start with High impact items.
- Work through each recommendation — the report explains what to change and why.
- Click Regenerate report after making changes to see your updated score and remaining actions.
Common action types
The report typically recommends actions across these areas:
- Description — optimize your business description by incorporating high-volume keywords. The report identifies specific keywords that are missing from your current description and suggests including local terms relevant to your category.
- Reviews — respond to recent negative reviews promptly and professionally. The report flags unaddressed reviews, especially low-star reviews in moderation, and recommends continued engagement with positive reviews.
- Business hours — ensure hours are complete, accurate, and include special hours for holidays.
- Categories — add missing secondary categories that competitors in your area use.
- Photos — add recent, high-quality photos to keep your profile fresh and engaging.
- Posts — publish regular Google Posts to signal activity to Google's ranking algorithm.
- Attributes — add relevant business attributes that competitors have but your profile is missing.
Tips and best practices
- Focus on high-impact actions first — they produce the largest ranking improvement per change.
- After completing high-impact items, regenerate the report to get an updated score and see if new recommendations appear.
- Use the keyword analysis to inform your content calendar — create posts targeting keywords where you rank low but demand is high.
- Compare your health score month over month to track optimization progress.
- Pair the optimization report with local search grid results to see how ranking changes map to geographic improvements.
Limits or edge cases
- The health score is a composite metric based on available data. A score of 100 does not guarantee rank 1 — it means your profile is well-optimized relative to what Localith can measure.
- Some actions depend on external factors (e.g., getting more reviews) that take time and cannot be directly controlled.
- Regenerating a report immediately after making changes may not reflect them if Google has not yet indexed the updates.
Common questions
How often should I regenerate the report?
After completing a batch of recommended actions, regenerate to see the impact. For ongoing monitoring, monthly regeneration is usually enough.
What does "you will jump 5 places" mean?
This is an estimate based on the combined effect of completing all high-impact actions. Individual results vary depending on competitor activity and Google's algorithm.
Can I apply the recommendations automatically?
Some recommendations like updating your business description or categories can be applied through Localith's edit business info or bulk updates tools. Others like responding to reviews route through the review reply workflow.
Is the report different from Optimization Proposals?
Yes. The optimization report is a scored health check with prioritized actions. Optimization Proposals are specific AI-generated content suggestions (description rewrites, category additions) that you can review and apply directly.
