Bulk Profile Updates lets you change business information across multiple Google Business Profiles at once. Instead of editing each location one by one, you select the locations, choose the field, and apply the update in a single action. This page is part of the Localith listings management tool.
Overview
When you manage dozens or hundreds of locations, updating profile fields individually is not practical. Bulk edits solve this by letting you push the same change — or different changes via CSV — across your entire location set from one workflow.
Localith offers two bulk editing paths: Single-info bulk edit for changing one field across selected locations, and Multi-info bulk CSV edit for uploading a spreadsheet with multiple field changes per location.
Before you start
Before running a bulk update, make sure:
- your Google Business Profiles are connected in Localith
- you know exactly which field needs to change and what the new value should be
- you have confirmed the change internally — bulk updates push to Google and affect live listings
- for CSV edits, your spreadsheet is formatted correctly with the expected columns
If you only need to update one or two profiles, use Edit Business Info instead.
How it works
Navigate to Bulk Edit from the left sidebar. The Bulk Edits section has four areas:
- Single-info bulk edit — change one field type across selected locations
- Multi-info bulk CSV edit — upload a CSV to update multiple fields across multiple locations at once
- Scheduled edits — view edits that are queued for a future date
- Edit tracker — review the history of all bulk edits with their status
Single-info bulk edit
Use this when you need to update the same type of information across multiple locations — for example, changing the business description, updating phone numbers, or adding a secondary category.
Step-by-step
- Open Bulk Edit from the left sidebar.
- Click Single-info bulk edit.
- Select locations — choose which listings should receive the update. You can select all, filter by group, or pick individual locations.
- Choose info type — select the business field you want to update from the dropdown.
- Enter the new value for the selected field.
- Review the affected locations and the change you are about to push.
- Confirm and submit the update.
Available info types
The info type dropdown includes all major profile fields:
- Description — update the business description across locations
- Working hours — set regular operating hours
- Special hours — add holiday or temporary hours
- Category — change primary or add secondary business categories
- Phone number — update the contact phone number
- Website URL — change the website link
- Opening date — set or update the business opening date
- Social profiles — add or update social media links
- Accessibility — update accessibility attributes
- Amenities — update amenity attributes
- Parking — update parking information
- Service options — update service delivery options (dine-in, takeout, delivery, etc.)
- Payment — update accepted payment methods
Each field type has its own input format. Some are free text (description, phone number), some are dropdowns (category, service options), and some are structured inputs (working hours, special hours).
Multi-info bulk CSV edit
Use this when you need to update different fields for different locations in one batch — for example, updating descriptions for 50 locations where each description is unique, or correcting phone numbers and categories across a mixed set of profiles.
The CSV edit follows a three-step guided flow: choose what to update, download your current data, then upload the edited file.
Step-by-step
- Open Bulk Edit from the left sidebar.
- Click Multi-info bulk CSV edit.
- Choose info type — select the business info you want to update from the "Which info would you like to update?" dropdown. This scopes the CSV to only the relevant columns.
- Download listings — download your current listings in a spreadsheet. This gives you a pre-filled CSV with your existing data so you can edit values directly.
- Edit the spreadsheet with the new values for each location. Keep the location identifiers intact and only change the fields you want to update.
- Upload formatted file — upload the edited CSV back into Localith.
- Review the preview showing which locations will be affected and what will change.
- Confirm and submit the batch update.
Scheduled edits
If you want a bulk edit to go live at a future date — for example, seasonal hours changes or a coordinated description update tied to a campaign launch — you can schedule the edit instead of publishing it immediately.
Navigate to Scheduled edits in the Bulk Edits sidebar to see all queued updates, their scheduled dates, and their status. You can cancel a scheduled edit before it runs.
Edit tracker
Every bulk edit is logged in the Edit tracker. This gives your team full visibility into what was changed, when, and by whom. Use it to:
- audit recent bulk changes
- verify that an update was applied successfully
- troubleshoot if a change did not go through as expected
The tracker shows the edit count (e.g., "9" in the sidebar badge) so you can quickly see how many bulk operations have been run.
Tips and best practices
- Start with a small test group of locations before pushing a bulk edit across your entire set.
- Use single-info bulk edit when the same change applies everywhere. Use CSV edit when each location needs a different value.
- Double-check the preview before confirming — bulk updates push to Google and affect live listings.
- Use scheduled edits for time-sensitive changes like holiday hours or campaign launches.
- Review the edit tracker after a bulk update to confirm everything was applied as expected.
- Pair bulk updates with Profile Locking to prevent Google from overwriting your changes after you push them.
Limits or edge cases
- Some profile changes may take time to appear on Google after submission — Google processes updates on its own timeline.
- Very large CSV uploads (500+ rows) may take longer to process. The edit tracker shows the progress.
- If Google rejects a specific field value (e.g., an invalid phone format), the edit tracker will show which locations failed.
- Bulk edits cannot be undone automatically — you would need to submit a new bulk edit to revert changes.
Common questions
What is the difference between single-info and CSV edit?
Single-info applies one field change to multiple locations with the same value. CSV edit lets you set different values for different locations and update multiple fields at once.
Can I schedule a bulk edit for a future date?
Yes. When submitting a bulk edit, you can choose to schedule it instead of publishing immediately. Scheduled edits appear in the Scheduled edits section.
How do I know if a bulk edit succeeded?
Check the Edit tracker — it logs every bulk operation with its status, affected locations, and any errors.
Can I update categories in bulk?
Yes. Select Category from the info type dropdown in single-info bulk edit, or include a category column in your CSV for multi-info edit.
Is there a limit on how many locations I can update at once?
Location limits depend on your plan. See Pricing for details.
